Just a quick post to announce that the latest issue of eViews is out. It has an extensive discussion about RSS vs. email.

Dave Winer thinks RSS in email (in other words, NewsGator) is a bad idea.

That’s just stupid. I rely heavily on my calendar in Outlook. Is that “just email”? What about my contacts list?

The point is not that your feeds look like email. Rather, it is that you actually bother to read them in the first place, which you’re much more likely to do if you see them in the context of the app most people use more than any other.

By contrast, he thinks “the first aggregator did it right” (that would be the one he wrote, of course). Radio is in my opinion one of the weaker aggregators. Different strokes…
