What does “Aff. link” or “aff.” mean?

Occasionally in this blog you will see links followed by “(Aff. link).” This designates that I have an affiliate relationship with the linked resource. This means I get paid a small commission if you 1) click on the link and 2) purchase the product. If I recommend a product, it’s because I like it. The affiliate relationship doesn’t influence the recommendation; rather, it comes after the fact. In other words, I liked the product first, then checked to see whether the manufacturer/developer/site owner has an affiliate program. You’ll find that the overwhelming majority of links on this site are not affiliate links.

    Derek,

Sweet idea my friend - call it out and be upfront with the AFF links. I’m going to be following your lead on this one. Thanks for the idea.

    Thanks for the tip!
I found your site via Bly.com! I have to say my list of regular reading is increasing greatly!

Also wanted to say Congrats on the Match.com success. It was Match that reunited me with my high school sweetheart :) We’ve been married for nearly 2 years.

Thanks again for a great blog!

    Gayla
